Sally Burgess celebrates one of the giants of twentieth century musical theatre. Richard Rodgers’ partnership with Lorenz Hart produced a string of hit musicals, including ‘On Your Toes’ and ‘The Boys from Syracuse’
After Hart’s death, Rodgers collaborated with Oscar Hammerstein II, and together they wrote some of Broadway’s most successful shows. ‘Oklahoma’, ‘South Pacific’ and ‘The Sound of Music’ all enjoyed unprecedented success and are as popular as ever on stage and screen.
Joined by her jazz qt., she perform s songs that demonstrate Rodgers’ extraordinary range, including ‘My Romance’, ‘Blue Moon’, ‘Johnny One Note’, ‘When the Children are asleep’ and ‘Bali Ha’i’ .
